GIRL IN A TRAINA Poem by Vidushi SharmaMy first ever poem, when i was fourteen...!Hey! I missed my train Ran behind it all in vain Tired on my knees, I am breathless I see no way out of this mess On train, I wanna get back Oh! M a helpless jack! Of all the things I left I think My mournful heart began to sink I left my heart there With a girl with black hair Who had sat beside me all while Came talking to me so many miles She was a girl who belonged to bar Was desperate to get from that life far Bounded by those worldly chain Seeking happier life she sat on train I wondered how her heart was clear Like a crystal, but had fear Unpredictable future that lie ahead How will she strife with hunger dead She had a beauty of spring landscape In her concise, there was nothing fake To myself, a promise I made I’ll help her till her past fade When on station I got down I ignored on her face a frown With a promise to get back in an hour I wandered street in search of a flower Finally I found a beautiful rose Felt overjoyed when scent stuck my nose I imagined her smiling face Rose in her hand, adding grace My head swayed with rose in hand, Platform was empty where I now stand. Train, rose ,spring and the girl, Together in my head began to whirl.
