A ghost

A ghost

A Poem by Sharkapillar

There's a ghost's arm on my shoulder
A lost whisper in my ear
"Rabbit, cheer up!" it says to me
You know I'm always here

A deceptive breath warms my neck
Telling me I've nothing to fear
"Everything's fine when I'm around,
I've got your back, my dear."

I wish that I could see your face
I can't---and it stabs me like a spear
And I wish more than anything...
I wish you were here.

This is a really haunting and chilling poem that really conveys the longing for a recently passed loved one to be here again and comfort you. Im glad you could so openly write about that, raw emotion makes any poem better. You did a great job though so congratulations!:)

Nice, simple structure and rhyme, with a heartwarming message as well. I like it!
