Four Soft WordsA Poem by Sharkapillarfound this under my piano. I'd recognize my handwriting anywhere.People are hard to fix But easy to break Easily destroyed And harder to make
Those stitches may be pulled tight But not after they snap They're no less transient Than that flimsy gauze wrap
Darker than black licorice A heart and mascara tears Spill over the dam You've built over the years
We're humans and animals Not patchwork quilts We're just the thorns on roses But we still manage to wilt
Because people can't be fixed But are so easily broken Easily devastated Just by four soft words spoken--
I never loved you.
