Inkless: A Definitive Rant

Inkless: A Definitive Rant

A Poem by Sharkapillar
"

I was complaining about my favorite pen running out of ink, thus birthing the word Inkless, which is not the dictionary, and is now my favorite word. Also, it is copyrighted. ITS MY WORD.

"

INKLESS

What does it mean, to be inkless?

To be without ink, obviously.

Literal ink, or metaphorical ink?

Without a soul, without a muse, to be fruitless. Ink could be whatever makes you tick, makes you run, makes you live.

I am inkless.

I am lacking.

I am without.

My ink is my heart. My sanity. My knowledge. My John. My Shannon. My hockey team. My great-Grandfather. My sleep. They are all my ink. They are whatt causes me to bring pen to paper and spill out my soul.

No.

My lack of them is what is my ink, what causes my writings. My lack of them is my motivation to write, as well as what I write about.

They are my ink.

They are the ink I lack.

For I am Inkless.

This is cute, I love it. We are so often judged by the things we have or the things we lack. But these are the things that define us, that mold us, that create in us desires and needs.
I loved how you expounded on a nonexistent word (at least until now) and used it to describe who you are. Great write!

I feel your pain. Great write. Feels like it comes from the heart trying to hide the emotions that stirred it. I said trying.
