Every Fallen PetalA Poem by SharkapillarI've been lying to myself all these years A tiny bit of truth tangled in tears I thought I was heartless, for I cared so little I thought, "If I have a heart, it must be brittle"
After a surplus of music and art, Of writing, of musing, finally I got smart My heart only looks fragile when standing alone Next to her's, it's as solid as stone
Remember when you were young Scribbling on paper Broke crayons without much pressure That's how easily you could break her
She's chalk, her tears fall like chalk dust Held together by tear-caused rust Breaks like a toothpick, but with more pain Don't hurt her, she's already insane
Delicate as a rose, Every fallen petal a shed layer of preotection
So hard to compose, To fix this imperfection © 2010 SharkapillarReviews
