FreedomA Poem by SharkapillarI never thought I was caged before But apparently I was Why else would I feel this Relief, this sense of Freedom Wash over me Like a bird trapped in a cage of gold Escaping through a fault in the wire, Fluttering about in an ecsatic dance Singing to all, news of her freedom As I do now I now understand The saying, "Free as a Bird" I am no-one's now And no one is mine No more need for insecurity, or worry But minor sadism And true happiness They're one in the same, in my mind I bite back my words But it isn't long before they spill F**k you--I don't love you. I don't think I ever did. © 2010 SharkapillarReviews
