Sly

Sly

A Poem by b.platte

Sprinkle me with glitter and candy coated shame

Live up to the hype of your self-inflicted name

You used to be someone else until you spoke too loud

Or was it too soon? Neither makes me proud

Proud to say I know you, proud to say I care

Proud to offer up something I knew I shouldn’t dare

A poison apple’s not your style so you left me this

A sultry walk, a sexy smile, and bitter poison kiss

I thought I’d choke to death on tears that never came

I guess it was my fault though; I didn’t play the game
