OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVEA Poem by shan337
As I write this,I'm watching you people
From my home planet Strafius 251 B We've successfully monitored your progress For your planet's five hundred years I've personally marveled at your achievements Though not many from my world will concur I've seen your enlightenment and the triumph of reason I've seen you transform your lives radically Without leaving your core values behind We here celebrated your baby steps out into the space We love your arts, literature and the enchanting music But if there's one thing that troubles our minds here Is the lack of trust and a feeling of oneness amongst you You feel no remorse in depriving your very species of life And you were not kind enough with your home either Just look at the mess you've created Poisonous air to breath and pathetic water to drink And we've laughed many a time At your weird notions of so-called Heaven and Hell Why don't you feel content at your home planet It's so beautiful,we probably love her more than you do We were so afraid we would never find life nearby We were so eager to come meet you as soon as we spotted Earth But you guys seem so lost in your wars, secret missions and your God That's why we've decided to wait until the day There's not a single conflict and you bury your guns forever For now though,I'm going to see my friend And spend the evening telling him stories from Earth © 2015 shan337 |
