TWO THOUSAND YEARS LATER

Two thousand years later
I find us denying and questioning
The existence of a man
Crucified by terrified fanatical forces
Two thousand years later
I see even more fanatical lunatics
Trying to wipe out compassion
His message is still the same
His teachings didn't change with time
All he wanted us to do
Was love each other
And partake in each other's happiness and suffering.
All of this makes me wonder
Did we really understand that man
Or have we been fooling ourselves
For two thousand years
