Eyes Swollen Shut... Tomorrow

Eyes Swollen Shut... Tomorrow

A Poem by shandi
"

One of those times that come when youve held it all in for too long...

"

Inside of that meltdown

That hour you can barely breath

More alone than youve ever been

Wanting only a breathe to retreive

Your composure

Your sanity

But the sharpest pains inside your head

Only escalate

And thoughts of who to call

Run rampant

So skittish

Afraid

So you just continue your crying

Praying for solace

Oblivious to one train of thought

Naked to thousands

That you cant make sense of

When you know

That all you need to hear

Something so simple

Just that Everything Will Be Ok

Those four words...

Possibly repeated...

So maybe you can sleep

Or at least stop gasping...

love this piece..
it is the essence of loneliness..
searching inside of oneself..
for someone you may trust..
someone you can count on..
and finding no one in your mind..
i love that line NAKED TO THOUSANDS..
it expresses vulnerability..
this is a great write!

What I love about your style is the feelings are so easy to relate too. They are such powerful words because we've been on both ends of them. We've said them. We've heard them. Like No-one said, even if it's obvious you are going to feel pain, it still says "Someone cares, and when it all unfolds, it "will" be ok."

I've been inside of that meltdown before.

Everyone needs someone to tell them, "Everything will be okay." Even if nothing will ever be okay again.

Thanks for sharing.
