Not what I'd plannedA Poem by ShannonbooThis is about my kids ..
I give them as much as I possibly can
I put band aids on cuts and I walk holding hands. I cook dinner while explaining why the stove cant be touched and pry candy from the hand that another has clutched. I can change a diaper with only one hand I know its not wondrous and its not what I'd planned. But motherhood is more than the laughs and sweet smiles Its worries and tears and convictions and trials. And just when i think I've had all i can grip I get a warm hug or a runny nosed kiss. I don't have much time and its never for me. I don't buy new clothes and my rewards you cant see. but My life is fulfilled and my hearts filled with joy. for I know ill never be lonely with my two girls and my boy. © 2012 Shannonboo |
