Heart Of America

I was inspired by September 11,2001. I wrote this shortly after.

Such extreme sadness
Such intense pain
Every American life has been touched
None will ever be the same
And at the end of this tunnel of hell
We will find the light
The innocent will prevail
Even if we have to fight
The guilty will be punished
We will come out on top
Bush has sent the message
Terrorism must stop!
But for now we live our lives
Much like we did before
Mourning for the lives we've lost
And praying theres no more
So be strong, America
For this may be just the start
But have faith in god, America
May he heal our broken hearts
