Your Dreams

Your Dreams

A Poem by Shanna Bryant

I'm wondering what you're dreaming of
Is it somewhat fascinating you
When you see the heavenly mountain range
And smell its morning dew

Or maybe you at at the carnival
Riding the rides full of excitement and joy
Having the greatest and brightest smile
While trying to win that special toy

Could you be at a picnic with friends and family
Having a blast and great fun
Even during the potato sack race
When everyone said you jumped the gun

I'm still wondering though
But there's only one thing to do
I'll just lay down
Kiss your eyes
And finally join you

This reminds me of the questions I ask about my 3-year-old son, whether he dreams of the excitement of his life or the love he gets from so many; are they warm and fuzzy; and sometimes, when he smiles, I cuddle up beside him and wish I can somehow see what he seems and smile in my sleep. Beautifully written poem!
