Gone.A Poem by Shannon LeighI taste your lips, my tongue, trapped behind walls of teeth, longs to escape and find you
Falling down, into the Earth
I sink. I feel the World under my feet but I do not see it around me. The blur of life confuses my brain and it.shuts.down. I hear your voice, it fills my ears until they burst. I smell you. My nose tingles with the feeling of closeness, enough to fall off my face and onto the floor. I see you, I really do - as if for the first time. Your hair, your eyes, your lips, your nose - and then blackness. My eyes exploded from your beauty. I taste your lips, my tongue, trapped behind walls of teeth, longs to escape and find you. So it hops from my mouth, to explore the world my eyes left unseen. My skin pops with sensations as you run your hands over me. I can feel your breath on my neck, feel the heat from your body, hovering over mine. And suddenly the sensation go away, as if my skin had melted off my body. I have no more sense. I lost them to you. It was promise that I made so that I could have you as my own. I did not under the price. And now I might as well be dead, if I cannot feel you, see you, simply know that you are there, I might as well be dead. Isn't that how I got here in the first place.
