A GIFT NOT ASKED FOR

That which we feel we have, but many dont...

That which…

Can’t be bought

Can’t be sought

Can’t be left unwritten too long,

Else it will rot.

That which…

Can’t be blessed with

Can’t be forced into

Can’t be fake, must be true

Else in our creation, it will show

 

That which…

Can’t be mimicked

Can’t be tricked

It needs patience, passion and intelligence

For a man to create like the divine consciousness

 

We all have that voice

The gift to create something new

That, which loves to speak aloud,

But, cherished only by a chosen  few

i think it is the gift of writing poetry....and many don't want to take the time to unwrap the gift...takes too much patience to relate...
so they just bring it back to the store to get their money back...or wish we gave them gift cards instead.

I read your poem twice.... The first time I felt the gift is writing... And the second time I felt it's the expression- you see we can express ourselves through writing, speaking up, drawings, etc. There are so many mediums we can use to express what we feel. Well, I don't know what exactly you were thinking while writing this poem! But this is what I feel about your poem.

I think "that" (in my opinion) is imagination. But it can be other things too.
