This a song not a poem, but I couldn't select "song." Either way, enjoy.

Haven’t played any games before
Haven’t engaged my heart before
I’ve protected it to well
Missing what I thought I’d never feel
There’ve been guys, trying too hard to love
Never returned, couldn’t get enough

Now my walls are falling down
Who’s left standing on this battleground?

Now that it’s over
Now I can see
Hiding my heart
I was my own enemy
Needing what I didn’t see
And somehow it found its way to me
I’ve been searching for it all my life
Looking for someone worth my time
And somehow it found its way to me

Suddenly dreams start to appear
My future, I see, is coming in clear
Miracles they do happen
Wasting energy on mistakes
Ending in dysphoric heartbreak

Now my walls are falling down
I’m fearless on this battleground

Now that it’s over
Now I can see
Hiding my heart
I was my own enemy
Needing what I didn’t see
And somehow it found its way to me
I’ve been searching for it all my life
Looking for someone worth my time
And somehow it found its way to…

My heart is now whole
With you I lose control
I’m a desperate addict
And I don’t want to quit

Now my walls have fallen down
We’re left standing, fearless, on this battleground
Now it’s over
I can see
I hid my heart
I was my own enemy
Needing what I didn’t see
And somehow it found its way to me
I was searching for it all my life
Searched for someone worth my time
And somehow you found your way to me!

Great description for the emotion of love. Love is a battlefield. Need to be careful and hope for a good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

that is excellent wonderful very well expressed I felt it I've been there I can relate maybe a little bit too much anyhow I love it it's lyrical genius its your personal experience I would like another one though more passion more description of the pain that you feel from this thing called love or what you are protecting your heart from and really get into it deep what your body feels like when you're experiencing that pain and that sort of thing what was your first heartbreak you know I mean by like very detailed I think you do good at that excellent job I don't like the color red and we talked to four points for that but I didn't go to go I love it
