The Anatomy of a Noose

The Anatomy of a Noose

Walking in the rain at night

No one I can see

Moon, my only source of light

It’s hanging from the tree

Water flowing on the ground

The water’s turning red

I swear that there is not a sound

‘Sept I could not hear what he said

The rain is turning into tears

Regret is in his thoughts

His conscious whispers in his ears

His throat is filled with knots

His hands, they act on their own

Creating the loop that cracks like thunder

It makes a wound that can not be sown

Putting you into eternal slumber

The other end tied on the limb

He steps upon the stool

His thoughts begin looking grim

Still feeling like a fool

Through the round

His life flies by

Body falls to the ground

His spirit soars into the sky
