Shane

Shane

A Poem by Shane Patrick C.

There once was a boy Shane
The problems of his life, fell like the poring rain
He hurt the ones he cared for, and left scars on his name
Frozen before a mirror, he saw the only one he could blame
Because through his eyes he could not see himself the same
The horrors inside, he would struggle to tame
If only he could understand the meaning of his pain

He watched the trees talk and felt the air breathe
And wrote all of the words he never wanted to see
For the mistake of the past cannot define the
Loving person he has always meant to be

Because I am the one who bares this name
I am the warrior who fights this pain
And I will press on until hells fire comes to flame
Because when the pain is gone, love remains.
