Glass shattered life

Glass shattered life

A Poem by Shane Patrick C.

Picking up the pieces of your glass shattered life

I look at you, like a husband looks at his wife

Lifting you up off the ground

Waiting for a sound

A cry of joy and defeat

 You almost loose you feet

I catch you that’s why I’m here

Your vision is blurred, but mine is clear

I know how you are feeling, I really do

As long as you’re with me I know you’ll pull through

No one has ever cared

That’s why I’m not there

With all those people you left you behind

Down in the gutter for me to find

I will not judge them, I won’t

If you think you need them, you don’t

It’s hard to believe, you don’t even need me

Somebody had to set you free

To spread your wings and fly away

To love again another day
