One Orchid

One Orchid

A Poem by ShaneBerry
"

I need to take better care of allot of things.

"

One Orchid

Bare stems reaching over the sides, a sleek and clean, morbid scene.

A rotted dark, olive green.

One orchid,

The scene is horrid.

The little care, and rude mistreatment, so cruel and sordid.

One left, one to care. Soft and pale,

Easily destroyed, difficultly kept.

The other plants in the room have wept.

As to clean up the petals and leaves, I slowly swept.

Saving its life, with nice cold ice.

And treating it softly, even if the flower falls, the base shall live and start again.

With care and knowledge, this next chance will not be ended in vain.

A very good poem. You taught me how to save a plant. Easy to forget things in this busy world. The mind can forget the important things. I like the ending to the outstanding poem.

You actually put a lot into this poem. Besides just the meaning of life and death, you also add on how things around you...well, actually need you. I love your poem. Amazing work. :)

Great inspiration. :) And they'll grow back, it's just the circle of life. ;)

While reading this I tried to think of some type of meaning or metaphor and I thought about a grave yard. Those orchids could be like the flowers left for the death, or the death themselves.
