Life

Life

A Poem by ShaneBerry
"

Here then gone, Like the gentle Swan.

"
Life
How Transient it is,
Like the edge of  a knife,
Here then gone,
Like the gentle Swan,
And dark, as satins’ spawn.
  An epic tail,
Or a long unraveled trail.
No one the same,
And not one reclaimed.
When started
It cannot be stopped.
When stopped,
It cannot be restarted.
all the hell and terrible strife,
Is a costly price,
The price, for life.

You have captured quite forensically and clinically all the beautifully mysterious but shocking qualities of the subject in such short, brutal, yet savagely accurate words. A work of art in concision and meaning. These poems you have created may be short but deal with grand subjects on a very grand and eloquent scale.

possible spelling error...should not satin's be Satan's?...but other than that...wow, the meter and the rhyme in this one is so succinct and well balanced.

Life can be a costly price if we let it be so. but in fact life was given to us free.
it is we unfortunaley that attach the price.

Life is short and it can be sweet! Good job!

Again, I completely agree with Devons.
I love the way you compare two things that only relate through your words, it makes the reader think a lot about the things in life that pass us byunnoticed

The brevity of this and its quick and lucid rhymes are astoundingly effective at capturing a huge and unfathomable theme. I like the convoluted paradox you suggest here and you resolve it so well.

A lot packed in here - nicely. The sound sentiments, meter and the internal rhymes are knitted together so skilfully. A quality piece.

"The high cost of living hasn't affected its popularity."
