Light And DarkA Poem by ShaneBerrythis morning i made thisthe c**k arises to sing his four syllable song. the dew holds to the wild mesquite branch like cold molasses on this wintery texas day. the sun not yet piercing through the break. the night air, as yet, not realizing it's hold upon the farm city. not careing of light, but only for it's own sake. no matter who wins the battle for dawn, for the other will win at dark. un-consoled by this foe, for win or lose they must. yet they fought this sensless fight, light and dark twice a day. but to no real avail. for win they must, and lose they will. for to not, is to become stagnate and still. no longer would life remain. to become one or to become the other, niether alone is better for one is your sister and the other your brother. both hold a value in life. © 2009 ShaneBerryAuthor's Note
