As I was Cleaning

As I was Cleaning

A Poem by Aradie Rain

I found a letter in a drawer

Tucked so far away

In a box with words of love

From who I cannot say

It breaks my heart

To see such things

When I am so in love

Did you forget to throw them out

With the rest of your trash

Or did you keep them special

In case I made a dash?

It breaks my heart

To read such things

When I am so in love

For once I could excuse it

But twice I cannot ignore

I know that what I should do

Is be showing you the door

It breaks my heart

To feel such things

When I am so in love

You told me that you loved me

You told me that you cared

But hidden away are letters

That do not compare

It breaks my heart

To know such things

When I am so in love

I found a letter in a drawer

Tucked so far away

In a box with words of love

From who I cannot say

I know this is wrong in so many ways

To be jealous of your past, when I have one too.

You dated 2 whilst I dated 10.

However you loved them both, while I loved only you.

We were best friends, I came first.

Why should I be jealous?

You hate them now, and your mine.

I found a letter in a drawer

Tucked so far away

In a box with words of love

From who I cannot say
