Your Broken Promise

Your Broken Promise

A Poem by Aradie Rain

You didnt stop me

when I ran away

No reached out arm

or step toward me.

You just let me slip away

You promised me

You would chase me down

and not let me go.

The very first time I go,

you break your promise

and let me leave,

I told you not too!

You swore to me!

I cant help it when I leave

you should know that by now

you idiot!

You mope around

and you cry and weep.

Do you forget the one thing

that would bring me back into your arms?

Keep that promise you made to me!

Bring me back to you.

Chase me down and proclaim you still love me.

I will be yours again

Author's Note

Aradie Rain
My now ex, who I of course still love and I believe still loves me, broke his promise. I have comitment issues and when I get close to someone I tend to run away. Problem is, no one cares enough to run after me.

I applaud the poem. There is a pain there, and I can feel it resonating with some of my own pain from long ago. So long, man time flies.

In any case, it takes a very good writer to make something like this, and I can tell that you put your heart and soul into this. There is also a confidence there, since it takes a lot to not only write something like this, but to put it out there. Like bearing your soul before a complete stranger. Well done, and I also like the style, grammar, and spelling. Well done indeed. You woulda brought tears to my old english teachers eyes.

It seems these days commitments don't mean much or some have a warped sense of forever... some treat love like fast food... I certainly feel your pain on this cause I have been there.
