Via Delizia

Via Delizia

A Poem by Aradie Rain
"

Wrote this while waiting in the Via Delizia Cafe.

"

The second you walk in

You can smell the Vibrant spices,

and freshness of the air.

Spices used in their superb Espressos

The wise old Italian, cleans his floors

between orders of Biscotti and Gelatano.

The display of desserts are breath-taking in their case,

Each one delicately arranged to accent their beauty.

The Gelatano's are colorful and inviting,

barely touched during the breakfast hour.

Soon to be devoured by lunch.

Penini's and Pasta's

cook in their preparation.

The Italian man

greets his costumers by first names

as they walk into the cafe.

They order their teas knowing exactly what they want

No need for menu's here

Thanking the Italian Alex,

They leave with their treasures

Art is displayed on the creme colored walls

Bringing the cafe into another meaning.

People converse in their booths

Converting back to their native tongue.

Arguing about who said what,

then laughing afterwards about how silly they were.

This little Cafe is more unique than others.

A tree grows in the middle of it.

Spreading itself into a canopy shelter.

Brick walls and wooden doors

give the appearance of being outside.

While remaining warm and comfortable

This is the Via Delizia

Wow. The place sound like a outstanding place to eat. Not many good places here in Michigan left with the feel of what you described in your excellent poem.

Sounds like a vibrant place with great atmosphere, certainly a place I'd like to hang out while writing... great imagery and love the free flowing structure of the poem.
