The Blood Burns

The Blood Burns

A Poem by Aradie Rain

They prick  like thorns to my eyes

The blood

seeps down my face

Each droplet

that touches my cheek

burns

My body

is an earthquake

shaking and siezing

like no tomorrow

My source of life

from inside my cage

pounds as it begs to leave me behind

They prick like thorns

when they hurt

your already fragile soul

Why do I envision the things that prick as words...probably my own interpretation...very powerful
