Symphony

Symphony

A Poem by ShameemAkhtar

The beads of silence drop
Into reality pallid
Breaking the monotony of silence
Hushing it with streaks
Of silenced hushes
A symphony of silence
The world of Beethoven
And music to the mundane
Ears.

Silence
Is golden

Silence
Is a solution
Solve silence
Silence silence
And collect the
Gold.

Use the solvent
Solve silence,
Resolute silence
Resolve it
Make it a solution

The beads of silence drop
Like a hammer
A judge’s sentence
Death
Deaf…

Bereft of sound
Noise maybe

But
The world
To Beethoven
And music
To ears
Deaf.

Silence
So silent
Salient

Silence the silent questions
Wreaking havoc
In the sinews of my brain
A silent thunderstorm
Of silence
Brewing up
And stirring
Further silence

Beethoven
Silence my silence
And question my questions
Put me to bed

Silence is golden
Silence is death
Death is deaf
Deaf is death

Free me from silence
The beads of silence
Drop away the beads
Of silence

And fill it with more
Silence

Let me reap the gold of death

"silence the silent questions..wreking havoc....In the sinews of my brain..a silent thunderstorm? Gifted....Why? Because it moves even the empty or barren to consider what is being said here. This should be painted. I saw with my eyes what you were saying. Well written and thought provoking. A piece of art.

Just because he couldnt hear with his ears didn't mean that there wasnt a cacophony allways in his mind. It must have drove him mad, save for beeing able to write some of the most beautiful music the world has ever known. In his world of silence beauty was the order of the day. He didn't have to hear the chaos in the world. Of course it must of been sad and some what torturous as well, for he couldnt hear the very music he gave to the world. I wonder if he listened to the vibrations. His ears may have failed him but I bet his since of touch was incredibly acute! Great write, beautiful really!

I can hear the silence of the poem....I love this one! The form is exquisite and really accentuates the concept of silence. There are so many pauses...breaths...silence...inbetween each stanza and line. Drives the point home. The fact that Beethoven could create symphonies from silence leaves me in awe. Silence has its own musicality, variations of silence create the chords. Well done...

At one point I wondered when the poem would end, then I realised I didn't want it to. I was transfixed by the wordplay and flow. A sensational poem about a rare commodity

there are a few , that can take something hateful to them ..and create something beautiful.

While I read this I played a sad song in my mind I love how you mention Beethoven (truly a great conductor and musician) this was a delicate sound to portray through either a musicians mind or simply from someone listening but the silence oh the silence I felt while reading this beautiful piece of work truly a work of precious art.

This is another one of your really good poems. The repetition works to emphasize rather than detract from the overall work, really driving the point home. The musical imagery works well to enhance the theme, adding more backbone to it rather than had it simply been prattling on about the joys and wonders of silence. Another job well done.

Even in silence there is sound...you must listen closely...the sheer magnitude of silence in this write is deafening..well done and well scribed...

In my own head, silence is golden. It adds to the illusion that there is possibly sound running through my brain from nothing. There is nothing quite more relaxing than silence.
