Section Me

Section Me

A Poem by ShameemAkhtar

Section my veins
And plant the seeds of your love
Deep in my flesh

Let it creep
Along the pipelines

Let it swim
In the river of life

Section my brains
And paint your image
Along the sinews of grey

Mould them
Into the statue of love

Etch yourself
In the engine of reason

Section my pains
And sprinkle the salt of sugar
Make a lemonade of your love

Give me a drink
Of the poisoned nectar
Let my parched lips kiss
The chalice of doom

Open my skull
And irrigate my brains
Let my veins
Drain

Sow the seeds of my pains
Bury them in me

Let the needle flow
And pierce its way
Let it unblock
Unclog the holes
Let my veins breathe

Section me
And free me

Free me of my blood
Free me of my thoughts
Carve open my soul
Take out my bowels

Rinse my inner parts in acid
Give it an alkaline bath
Purify it with corrosive
Explode the insanity of my heart

But give me…

The roots of your love tingle too much

Like the repetition sets it up nicely or nastily ;)

the passion expressed here seems dark. it flows and has a life of it's own.
Nice write.

This feels so surgical and all the cuts are precise in this operation. A healer sometimes has to be the surgeon, cutting, removing, and stitching all for the sake of love. Gruesome love is but we are to ourselves our own love doctors. great piece! i enjoyed this very much.

He was in love with her, when she was the love interest of Hercules. As the river god, the poet was always getting there but never quite the ocean yet. A river learns patience. A poem that slowly meanders, hoping to catch something big.
