Shivered DreamsA Poem by Shama ZaraWhen relationships fail, write a poem.Shivered Dreams, So cold, how could it be. The fog chased my tears away, But this pain still blinds my heart.
Darkness and unsettling upon my eyes, And sadly I see nothing but you. Rain falls so slow when you look carefully, But nothing falls as fast when I loved you.
I wanted to break this gate that surrounds you, You've captured my being and my desire. Like fire, swept throughout my chest, I breathe with slow gasps of your name running through my veins. And the rest? All gone.
Shivered dreams have become so cold, This newfound depth to my pain has gone gray and old. Seeing from sides and not the whole frame, This is painting me bold with shame.
I have loved once, for once. Why must I do it once more? I'd pull the ribbon to tie the knot, But my love for you, No longer soars. © 2008 Shama Zara |
