I'm a Depressed Bard!

I'm a Depressed Bard!

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh

Far across rise the gleams of golden rays,

Creeping out of yester nights darkness,

I see no light with my soul, yet I see them,

Obliged to live, live with what?

Beauteous roses hath lost their redolent smell,

No more beads of tears, no more words,

Not from me, for I’m a depressed bard,

Peace and joy go hard or at least for now retard,

For I’m a depressed bard..

Scrutinizing the palpable coal black sky,

I see no stars; studs of diamonds have faded,

Like an alabaster dove raises to the sky,

Just one, and all that I can see,

Diminished into sky, soul, as I believed it to be,

Trails of tears and souvenir of thoughts,

Death strolled in to take you away,

Looking at my hand where you no more hold,

I stand here and groan, freezing in ice cold.

A very sorrowful poem of the pain of loss. Your words are elegant and so grey with depression and sadness. You did an outstanding job on this poem.

Such a sad grey poem, yet beautiful in its form of tribute to your best friend. It's hard to say comforting words because unless you've gone through it (I have), tis hard to understand the feeling of emptiness and 'alone-ness' when someone truly loved disappears from sight. But, try very hard to think of it this way: even a memory is better than never having known that person, she'd want you to remember happy times, when and if you can, love. (YOU)

'I see no stars; studs of diamonds have faded,' - such a love phrase

A powerful description create a place and a sadness. I like the artwork. Gave life to your words. Sometime we miss people and can feel very alone. Thank you for the amazing poem.

My heart goes out to you. I can definitely relate to this as I have lost one of my dearest friends long ago as well as her child. A very strong poem that bring moisture to my eyes that threaten to overflow. I love when one is not afraid to open up to all. Your honesty in this piece is breathtaking. Depression grips us all and I am right there with you. Kepp up the wonderful writing. I will be reviewing more as I can. Bravo for the heartfelt poem!
