Best Of It

Best Of It

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh

Best Of It...

The crunchy yellow leaves

      Dried beneath the feet, crumpled!

The scorching sun, the golden rays

      Embracing your skin, warm!

Scoops of creamy vanilla clouds

Floating in the bright blue sky, swift!

Freshly bloomed bougainvilleas

      Adorning the green trees, colorful!

The smell of the fresh ice creams

      Tickling with chillness, melting!

The coolness of the evening breeze

Sliding on and aver you, gently!

Lots more and more to pen

      About the bright summer, enchanting!

One can feel the warmth.. the brightness of all that is summer... the dance the day brings... This is a smile wrapped with words and yes, it's enchanting!

This is the refreshing, beautiful type of metaphors I love to find at one's poem. We can taste, touch, see and hear such wonderful spoken words. Lovely job!

Wonderfully flowing poem, full of colour and movement and I love the way you've punctuated the second line of each couplet.

'Scoops of creamy vanilla clouds ~ Floating in the bright blue sky, swift!'
