O Mother!

O Mother!

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh

O MOTHER!

O mother, mother of mine!
Who lives on heaven and earth!
You’re my goddess divine,
I may now have tons of gold,
But precious of them all
Is your motherhood untold!

Oh it was you! You were the one,
To brighten each of my day
Just like the yellow golden sun,
Like the summer rain brings joy,
You accompanied when I was bored
You were mama’s little girl’s toy.

You taught me how to grow and learn,
Now am grown enough to earn,
You were my first teacher and friend,
Our lovely bond shall never ever end!

Mom, I really had no guilt or fears,
For even in the worst of times,
You were there to wipe my tears,
You cared for me each and every hour,
And always smiled at me
Just like the fresh-bloomed flower!

You spared your sleep when I was ill,
Stayed awake to just look at me
Sure to know that I was sleeping still,
All of your love, with me you shared
Neither left me hungry nor alone at home,
There wasn’t a day were you hadn’t cared,

How as a mother you are really good,
Shower you my love I really should,
Now am grown and want to be like you,
For good mothers are really, really so few!

What a BEAUTIFUL tribute to your mother .. makes me smile and cry at the same time. Every line speaks a special thought but I do love, 'But precious of them all ~ Is your motherhood untold!' It's more than obvious that although now married you still feel so close to your dear mum, indeed, you and she will always be one.
Mothers are so special: whatever a child does, mothers forgive and love then, love some more. I miss mine. Maybe one day i'll be just a little like her, she had seven children to love and tho sometimes we must have driven her crazy, she still kept on loving us! (our dad was pretty special too)
Your writing's always created with great sincerity to the topic and also, respect to literary requirements.

You've created a stunning series of recollections... What a dear woman who loved you and inspired you to love as well... Made me think back to my precious mother..

What a beautiful tribute. And those last lines are absolutely correct, great mothers are very few in number! It takes a wonderful woman to become one. Great work!
