Wood

Wood

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh

In a forest so big and thick,

I found a stick,
Shining like gold,
Looked so old.

The stick smelled really so good,
Golden color wood,
Took it in my hand,
Dusted away the sand.

Around it I tied a golden swag,
Carefully placed in bag,
This stick so good,
Was golden color sandalwood!

A lovely poem crafted here.

However (sorry lol), you entered this into
my first Minute Poetry contest, so I must
point out the syllable counts.

3 stanzas of

8444
8444
8444
each.

I'm not sure I would conform this, or start over
on a fresh 'slate' for the contest; for I like this.

It's so up to you :)

The description of the wood made me feel like I was holding it. I could even smell the smell of the wood. That is amazing! This is a great and stunning write.

There is such beautiful imagery here... each glimpse a piece of this wondrous world unveiled... One can see something ordinary becoming like gold... Wonderful!
