With no one found in the house, He, little jimmy was found there, alone, Enjoying the company of a Nut eating squirrel, playing around the house. There was nothing for him to eat Hunger didn’t matter him, Empty cans and candy wrappers was thrown all around When all of a sudden, he heard a sound Intruding into his privacy, someone had entered! Not withstanding the sudden fear, Dreaded feeling was seen in his young face… But, not knowing who it was, he sat there praying, Little jimmy then rose with courage, walked out and Opened the door to see who it was, and found a White tailed, furry poodle scratching his door, Smirking at his silly fear, he took it inside to play along!

I like this poem, I feel so much compassion for the little one for being left alone. It takes much courage to open a door with no adult to protect you. Very sound writing. Your Friend, Lynn
This has overtones of sadness mixed with joy at the end.
