Walking Together

Walking Together

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh

We were walking on this lonely beach
As silence gave it long love speech
We strolled along on coarse sand,
walking together clutched hand in hand..

The moonlight made the sky shine bright,

On this hot, breezy summer night,
As I walked drawing lines on sand,
He was next to me, still holding my hand.

We were talking and laughing by the shore
This is the feeling which I hadn’t before,
I was just drowned in his admirable laugh,
For he was the person who was my better half.

The night got darker and darker,
The time was flying faster and faster,
Our eyes spoke more than words,
We looked like lovely love birds.

The moon melted behind the cloud,
as the sun rose from the midnight shroud,
How the day had melted soon,
It was just like a romantic tune.

I liked this poem because it was really romantic. Cliche as walking on the beach, hand in hand, may seem, I still find it breathtaking. Also, the way you played with the image was fantastic. You made us feel every hint of happiness and perfection in such a scene. Great job.:)
