For Best Things Are Free

We march forwards towards a new dawn,

Where things are old, but yet a new!

Numbers are what makes a change,

For the rising sun, the twinkling stars,

The floating clouds, and all you think,

Are same, and just the very same!

Years older are we, for it wrinkles the skin,

And not our precious heart, the one within!

Shredding behind those hurtful thoughts,

Paving way for the fresh forgiving mind,

A chance to live another day! The gift of today,

Kindle the love, for best things are free!

The gift from above is showered upon,

Upon our wondrous earth we live,

A new day, a new year, is all that’s given!

Blessed are we, for we see 2013!!

A beautiful and powerful poem. I like the hope for good things to happen in 2013. I believe this year 2013 is important. We (Government) will change direction for good or worst? I agree best gift is love and kindness. Thank you for the excellent poem.
