There is definitely something about a smile. The way it makes us feel inside, even if just from a photograph. Just another avatar. It seems our lives are filled these days with avatars, pictures that represent what someone thinks of themselves. I couldn't even fathom a guess as to how many avatars are in use at any given time, the numbers would be mind blowing I think, but there are always few that stand out. On a site like this (and others) it seems names are not as important as the photo that we use. I myself find that here on WC, when searching for favorite poets it is always the picture that I look for, not so much the name. And when that picture is smiling back at you...that makes all of the difference in the world. Very nicely done my sweet friend. This is a poem of today...loved this one.

Most of the pictures on sites are not even the real person.... antique photos, listing wrong ages, cartoons etc. I am always attracted to the ones that have enough self confidence to allow us to see the real them..
Something about his smile is about a real photo of course..
Thank you Jack again.. always a pleasure.. xo rose
Yeah, I get this one... We writers have a way of idealizing certain things, including the "not-exactly-real" people that we meet on sites such as these (i'm not saying that people aren't "real", because many of you are more real to me than real people, but I guess I mean "tangible"). The heart does skip a beat sometimes when kind words are written and interest is given, it's natural, but is it "r e a l"...I don't know. :) You have made me think with this one, my friend. Very good work.

A beautiful blue fairy.. sparkles in the eyes.. After awhile we take the heart of that fairy and it becomes real.. It could be a guy, a kid, an old hag.. We will always see that beautiful fairy. Thank you for reading and reviewing.. xo Rose

I like pretty and hopeful smiles. A smile can make a bad day better when given to us. I like the mystery and the hopeful feel of the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
