He Takes My Breath Away

Silently we sit alone

when not a word is spoken

for in his eyes I've found true love

our love a treasured token

~

the words he speaks are soft and pure

I trust him with my heart

I know that he has much to give

I've known it from the start

~

 in the kiss of love in bloom

he traces every line

within his velvet fingertips

his gift of love divine

~

I've never felt such tenderness

as he overtakes my all

and leads me into ecstasy

each night again I fall

~

caressed as only he could hold

protected in his arms

I was caught quite helpless

defenseless to his charms

~

I am just a woman

nothing special I can see

sometimes I stare at mirrored glare

and wonder what he sees in me

~

for crows have walked upon my face

and left the footprints there

I know he sees me gently age

but he doesn't seem to care

~

and if I cry he understands

as a woman that’s what I do

when filled with such emotion

the  tears come falling through

~

I know our love is timeless

forever and a day

he is my all, my everything

he  still takes my breath away
