When Love was BornA Poem by shallimarRoseWhen Love is Born
He made only coy small talk never revealing hidden desires longing to touch the face be touched by the long lace glove caressing her fingertips capturing daydreams the lips that smiled in pictures if only they were smiling for him
little did he know lonely eyes behind that smile were also looking for something she had pictured his face a million times in her dreams yet not once had she seen him but in the gentleness of his words the caring nature of a gesture she felt him deeply longing to be noticed by him
days and weeks passed into months simple good mornings as the two would cross paths each day yet neither ever looked up until one night he noticed something fall gently lifting it in his hand he held it up did you drop this? He asked why yes she answered raising her eyes to his the matching teardrop on her cheek “You may keep it she whispered, I have plenty”
at hearing this tears weld in his eyes as well one dropping onto his hand mingling with hers overwhelmed by the compassion of this quiet man she reached to touch his cheek there was no lace glove on her fingertips as she caressed his face knowingly this was him, the one in her day dream the one caressed in her night dreams the one she had never really seen
they gazed into each-others tear filled eyes acknowledging though they had known each other they had never really met until the moment their tears mingled in that moment hearts opened souls touched and love was born
