RED

RED

A Poem by shallimarRose
"

new... pic from Google images

"

I sat blushed red

alone on the shelf

you had an open invitation

to take me at your leisure

to the most desired place

fingers pressed lightly

across alabaster whites

and rose petal pinks..

salacious words driven deep

through the middle ,

..............your favorite part ?

word by word you read my lips

line by line tracing my curves

feeling the fine grain of parchment

where our story lines crossed

exclamations came in high velocity

like moans in the heated night

or a stray kitten  on the hot tin roof

drawing circles of unwritten words

that danced between the sheets

............... pristine pages

                             ...............untouched till now

..............you and I

The master and his mistress ?

The dom and his submissive ?

the kitten and her vagabond ?

or perhaps

only the reader and a book that has long awaited

and finally read.... !

Amazing read, Rose this is relating to my old memories smooth and really amazingly posed here. I loved the part which you ask "..............your favorite part ?" whereas, it narrates most part which I love too ;)
However, this is pleasant poem which really made me feel of my old times and I really enjoyed reading it again and again :)
Thanks for the invite :)

Whew! it's getting hot in here. I love the connection to reading a book. Your words are spoken so sensually, it's a delight for the reader.

Thank you again Dye.. glad you enjoyed.. xo
i love this analogy of lovemaking to reading a book...

both very pleasurable....we won't talk about which one is more...

i don't quite sweat as much reading a book, unless it is mid-southern illinois summer and the air conditioning isn't working...

but there are different kinds of love affairs...and you so well describe the one between the reader and the pages.

Stunning. This piece could be about writing itself or about a passionate couple. I love the ending suggesting that it is a book that has not yet been read. I love the vivid details and red always as an emotion to pieces. In this case passion.

The title caught my eye of course!! I figured if its Red its going to be hot!! Lol.... I was disappointed. Very steamy and provocative...as many of your poems are. Fantastic!! ;-)

' .. .. exclamations came in high velocity ~ like moans in the heated night .. ..' those lines could be a sub.title. What an exciting almost slow slide into sensual theatre. Wonderfully phrased sets, colourful, creative.. methinks a great performance! Might come back to this when the weather changes!
