Play for me (my handsome ghost)

Play for me (my handsome ghost)

A Poem by shallimarRose

Play for me my handsome ghost

your melodies of long ago

Play for me my secret prince

and in my dreams your song bestow

Play for me with silent sound

the memories will do the rest

Play for me of loves rebound

For I am lost I must confess

Play for me the songs of old

The ones that left my heart to soar

Play for me in silent note

He does not live here any more

Play for me and drown my cries

That I might be sheltered from the storm

I must forget his last goodbyes

Please play for me until the morn

In reading this (which i did twice), I couldn't get the image of Lestat from Interview With the Vampire playing the piano...so strange the image that was conjoured so vividly. I like the classic feel of this one; you weave a tale here that is relatable, ethereal and beautiful to the fullest extent. Well done.

So very sad indeed. I don't know why, but the sorrowed look on Ingrid Bergman's face from Cassablanca when she asks Sam to play "As time goes by" comes to mind. Very nice my friend.

no problem... xo Rose
did you mean "his last goodbyes"

this is good, the nights are too long, and painful with memories...

his ghost comes and it makes her sad...she prays for morning, and some sense of normalcy...

as she misses him so much..

very smooth write...your pacing in phrasing is without a glitch.
