My Village-My Birth Place

I write this poem not only to honor my village but also to pay homage to the bond shared with my brother Ateeq Ahmad, whose photographs rekindled the flames of memories and ignited Creativity.

 

My Village-My Birth Place

In a village called Data, beneath the summer's golden sun,

Lies a natural swimming pool, where memories are spun.

At Sar in Behlum, where rain paints the skies,

A haven comes alive, where childhood dreams arise.

Oh, natural summer swimming pool,

Where laughter and joy intertwine as a rule.

From the moonsoon period to the rainy season's grace,

This place in my heart will forever have a special place.

From humble beginnings, my swimming journey took flight,

Within those waters, I learned to glide, my fears taking flight.

A small pond, yet mighty in its significance,

This swimming academy, my soul's true residence.
