MondayA Poem by Ken BaldwinOriginally posted to my first Twitter account 1/31/2011, 3:15pmMonday, I stab thee upon the sacrificial altar that is my life. May your blood give joy to the gods and bring a cleansing rain to my soul. First, the blood upon the infertile soil of my desert landscape to feed that which is hungry and give it sustenance. Then, the cool rain to wash away the pain, the anger, the hatred, the loneliness. Water to be absorbed by the seeds within my heart, causing a green flourish of growth. Colorful flowers to bring forth the insects, the birds. All the patience of the dry season culminating into this one moment of activity. The buzzing, the singing, the now. © 2021 Ken Baldwin |
