Friends

A Poem by William heath

Friends
They listen, they lie,
They come, they go.
they live they Die,
They understand you and know.

They will have your back one moment,
then might stab it the next.
each time you meet someone, it becomes a test.

Can I trust them? Are they real?
And each time, you decide they are,
but in the end, the relationship won't go that far.
you show them your love,
you give them you secrets.
But they're really not what you think.
they only used you.
And it take you too long to see that.
Your in need of someone so badly it hurts!
all you want is to hear those three words,
 "I Love You"

But the ones that ask you for nothing in return,
the ones that will understand, and stand for you,
The ones you miss so much it burns you!
Keep them if you can, because when they're gone, they're gone,
and that's just life's sadistic plan...

My grandfather once said to me a thought he remember in the South Pacific back in 43, 'Never under estimate the enemy, but never ever over estimate your alley.' That is how friendship works.
