The Life Of A Flower

The Life Of A Flower

A Story by David Brannan (Shaggs)

The Life of a Flower

A flower starts from a seed that is cared for and nurtured, watered and loved. Then the seed brings forth life with a little “seedling”. With more love and care the “seedling” grows bigger, taller, and stronger till the point it becomes self-sufficient and can take care of itself on its own. But really can this flower survive the world and harsh environments it might be placed in. This flower needs the reassurance and support of a loving hand to thrive in any and all conditions.

This flower happens to be a special flower. It is one that shines bright with spectacular colors of beauty. But too most people this flower is considered nothing more than just another flower or a wretched weed. This flower however has managed to survive all the strife and being trampled on. This flower has a special quality that just makes it come back stronger and stronger and even more beautiful every time. It has character.

This flower lives its life day by day in the shadow of the sun sitting, waving back and forth in the wind, observing everyday life and all the chaos and antics. This flower can be considered to some as a bright spot in this other than gloomy world. To some this flower is believed to have healing qualities. This flower brings happiness to all that encounter it. It also leaves you with an intoxicating scent you will make you never forget the flower.

This flower is one in a million and its seed can never be cloned or re-created in any sense. Many have tried to copy this flower and none have successfully completed this feat. Many have tried to imitate this flower also with unsuccessful results. One day in the flowers life a loving and caring hand came along and dug the flower out if its treacherous spot in the world and put it in a beautiful shiny, warm and cozy pot, with the perfect soil and water.

The flower was seen by one person as the greatest thing in the world and this flower brought them so much joy and happiness. Everyday this person would wake up, roll over and see that beautiful flower sitting in its magnificent pot in the windows with the rays of sun shining bright down on the flower and encapsulating the room with a contrast of colors and light. And instantly the biggest smile on the persons face appeared knowing that they will have the flower forever and will makes sure the flower survives just as long as them.  This person feels this flower has the potential to become something greater beyond itself. This person and the flower become one and will spend their live together as one forever.
