Half GivenA Poem by .:Arianna:.The heart will always keep beating. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. She can take any pain, any cheating. She will never know. The soul will tear little by little. But it will hold. The skin will share a scar or two. For it's been told, the eyes will soon forget the eyes they do not see. The hands will go on working in this field, every summer, every grain will be gathered. The feet will keep walking, forward. Sometimes shaky, sometimes numb. But what, poet, tell me, what must I do with your letters, the countless letters and stories pinned on my wall ? The promises, the consolations, the oaths... For these are the only link between me and remembering you. For though you came, you never passed, you didn't throw a glance. And when I looked once more, just a letter was added on my wall. A letter sealed. A life, long lived, a love, half given.
