Journey to my Back-Yard

Journey to my Back-Yard

A Poem by .:Arianna:.
"

Who said Distance

is connected

closely

to Time?

I can prove

the opposite,

and I'll prove it

with rhyme,

that I can fly

to the land of kangaroos

in a day,

though it's so many miles away!

But it can take me

two whole weeks

to travel

from my kitchen to my yard,

it's the journey distance seeks.

It's not Time.

Time is a mere human invention.

The road is mine

and I will go with good intention.

I will open my door,

loaded with food and supplies.

I will take the first step,

towards my yard

of roses and of butterflies.

Will you be waiting for me there?

Come, let's join this quest together!

While others climb mountains,

cross rivers,

jump in volcanoes through hot air,

thus will we just dwell

through the tall grass

and the frog well

to the borders of my back-garden.

For time has not yet come to pass.

But, listen...

As we walk,

we will stop at every flower,

every stone and every tree,

then we'll see we have a power,

that few travellers can see...

See you in two weeks!

The concept behind this is so important and aesthetically pleasing that it won out against stronger verse, it was just so gentle and adorably true!

1. Time is a mere human invention

And I'll never forget it! Well done!

As we walk,

we will stop at every flower,

every stone and every tree,

then we'll see we have a power,

that few travellers can see...

Then the line that is a downer:
See you in two weeks.
It would take two weeks to write a
treatise on time. I am corrected,
you just did it in a few lines.
Interesting and accurate.
