![]() The Sandmans DaughterA Poem by .:Arianna:.‘’The Sandmans Daughter’’ Like leaves, they say we will fall. Like songs we will end, like an oil lamp we will fade. But until we do, why, I wonder, can we not believe we will live forever? Until they fall themselves they cannot know. And I believe in everything I want to, because what I can see, I can believe in. And what I cannot see, I can imagine. So that everything is real, and nothing, if I want to. I fear there is a power placed inside us, we have yet to find. And until we do, I will play hide and seek with my dreams, my wishes, and my magic. And if tonight I want to dream of mermaids growing wings and flying to the land, I will, for I can. And if tonight, i want to wake my favourite poet up in the middle of the night, with lillies cut from Eden itself, i will. Growing up, was never meant to take the place of being young and hopeful. It should be just an extra task from time to time. We needed to learn to combine. I did! Oh, I did, Sandman father of mine! And I promise that as long as I am not falling or fading, or ending, I will try to teach people, how to dream again… Like children… © 2011 .:Arianna:.Reviews
