-Soliloquy of the Widow-

-Soliloquy of the Widow-

A Poem by .:Arianna:.

''Would winter feel
a little warmer,
if you were a little closer??
Would my smile be more convincing,
if your own wasn't so frozen??

I envy those swans...
they can fly when they want..
...and they can dive..
Hide..even for a while....

Would God be more merciful,
if i tried a little more??
Fought a little harder to catch
my shadow in the night??
Would i be stronger than before,
if i were standing in your light??

I envy those stars...
so beloved in every poets heart..
So pure and bright and mystical,
their glory knows no obstacle..
..i wish i could find ours...

Would the void be smaller
if i still had you next to me??
Would my grey eyes see more color,
if you hadn't set me free??

Oh,i envy all those lovers,
walking under moonlit sky...
Did they find a field of clovers,
or is their love also a lie??...
.................................

Would my tears tonight dry quicker
if i shared them down here with you???
................................................

...................................

Her questions come to life in the divine light and painful shadow. The loss seems so vast, taking from the glow of every star, and giving us all a reason to pause and see the place where we stand, and who stands with us. So thankful you are back with us, Arianna.

Oh this is such a moving write! Sublime in its sorrow! I was drawn to the immensely poignant title...Such agonizingly beautiful expressions... It is impossible for the reader to comment on this impartially...it drags the reader with it into its intense darkness... very few poems have such a deep impact on the mind...
Masterfully done!
