Set Apart this DreamA Poem by .:Arianna:.
Tonight let's be two stranded stars
Two gems sewn in the sky Let's not explain to anyone Don't even say goodbye Let's lilt to each others humming And let's sway to each others pull The night is everlasting And our wine glasses still full Tonight you don't belong to her, You're dust and gas and gleam, Set apart this eve for me, Oh, set apart this dream! The light years separating us are trifles, nothing less Distance is a sinner that does not wish to confess But as the hours are drifting by and we dance towards the dawn Let us count one final time those daisies on the lawn Let's chant out loud all our 'what ifs' Unravelling at their seam Set aside this kiss for me Oh, set apart this dream! And after we have placed our wish We'll fall back down to Earth And wake up in our separate beds Our separate home and hearth And if you sigh ''it was just a dream'', Remember what they say: ''A good dream turns to memory and never fades away''. © 2016 .:Arianna:.Featured Review
